What is our PCN Patient Participation Group (PPG) all about?
Our Patient Participation Group consists of patients who are registered in one of our 7 practices in our network, all wanting to help make the practices work as well as it they can for patients as well as help our neighbourhood understand the breadth of services on offer to patients in our network. The group currently meets every few months at the Mathews Practice. We are currently going through an educational programme which aims to inform the patients of how the practices run and gives an insight as to how the services are used.
Within these meetings, the PPG will be introduced to staff across the network – clinical and administrative who will give insights into their roles and inform the group of how their role impacts the practice along with the PCN. Practice managers will also give a great insight to their roles and what they are dealing with on a day to day basis..
We want to give the PPG an honest and fair insight as to the goings on within the network so that in the future they can give informed and valuable contributions
Why should I join?
Your experiences matter and you can bring different ideas to the surgery to help us treat patients better or to improve what we do in some way.
You will also gain a better understanding of the NHS, and gather feedback from other patients.
Who runs the PPG?
One of the practice managers from the network runs the meetings with a planned agenda. Minutes are then taken during the meeting and sent to the PPG members over email following the meeting.
Will my views be heard?
Your views are important and will be listened to. It may not be possible to act on every suggestion, but all feedback is very valuable.
Our current members act in a spirit of mutual respect, openness and trust, all patients’ views will be discussed and where appropriate, we will work together on solutions. If that sounds like something you would like to be a part of and you are a patient at one of the practices in our network please fill out an application form below.
